Hi my dear crocheters!

If you have a baby at home you definitely wish sometimes you had little helpers all around you. There is so much to do, so little sleep, so many things to think about and remember.

A month ago, my brother got his first baby! I was so excited! And I wanted to gift something useful. Something beautiful and nice, but also useful. Something for the baby as well as for the parents. So I came up with the idea of the helping sheep.

One side of the sheep ist crocheted with chenille yarn. It is soft, cuddly and calm. The sheep is sleeping – this side of the sheep is perfect for the baby to snuggle.

The other side of the sheep is crocheted with cotton yarn in different colours and in a way that the baby wants to touch it. The sheep is awake, the baby can have fun with it, admire the different colours and play with the knotted legs of the sheep.

Hidden inside the sheep you find a small blanket that helps you cover yourself and your baby while breastfeeding. You can just clip it on your shirt and no one sees what you don’t want them to see and your baby is less distracted by its environment. But of course you can also clip it on the stroller so your baby gets shade or is less overwhelmed by many impressions. If you bottlefeed your baby, it can be useful to give it some privacy and again, to help it be less distracted by what is going on around it.

The blanket is safely crocheted to the sheep and in addition is crocheted in htr – people are not seeing through but you don’t have to worry that your baby gets trouble breathing or that it is getting too hot under the blanket.

Again, safety is important for me when I design something for a baby. Hence it is a handmade item there can not be given a guarantee, but it really should be as safe as a handmade item can be.

As you see, the helping sheep is a toy and a helpful gadget in one! If you go drink a coffee with a friend, just grab the helping sheep, some diapers and wipes and you basically have everything you need.
